Welcome to Year 7

What does Witton have to offer for a Year 7 pupil?

Head of Year 7 (Miss Young), would like to welcome you to the Year 7 webpage. Here you will be taken through all the key information, opportunities and expectations for Year 7 pupils. Alongside Miss Young is the wonderful Year 7 team made-up of Mrs Walker (7CW), Mrs Miele (7LM), Mrs Savage (7PS), Mrs Egginton (7SE) and Miss Larrett (7SL). This year is about embracing new challenges and responsibilities, developing more independence and preparing for high school. We aim to support the children by developing a broad and balanced curriculum in a positive and engaging learning environment. There will be new responsibilities and opportunities throughout the year (including a residential trip), finishing with a graduation ceremony which celebrates the children's achievements and success before they head off to high school.

Leadership and Citizenship Opportunities 

In year 7, pupils have a number of leadership opportunities they can apply for to develop their

independence and responsibility.

In addition to this, all pupils are encouraged to complete their citizenship award which has three levels

(bronze, silver and gold).

This allows pupils to develop not just their academic skills but other life skills too.
