Spring Term 2020
Some of the things we are learning this term:
How to use the simple future tense and apply it by making New Year's Resolutions in French
How to talk about our town and say what there is or isn't in town
How to ask where things are and use prepositions of place
How to use high frequency verbs in 1st and 3rd person, eg je suis, il est
Developing extended writing skills by completing a dream town project
Links with Droitwich High School
We are developing a link with the Modern Foreign Languages Department at Droitwich High school in order to enhance the provision of Languages teaching at Witton, and to help pupils make a smooth transition in their language learning when they move up to the High School.
In December, a group of 30 year 7 pupils spent a morning at Droitwich High School working with Languages teachers and year 9 pupils. We learnt to sing the song 'Vive le vent' and made Christmas cards in French which were given to senior citizens who visited the High School the following day.
At the end of March, year 9 pupils from Droitwich High School will visit Witton and will lead a languages lesson for some of our year 7 pupils.
