Uniform Information

What is the Uniform Policy?

Our uniform has been planned to be functional, look smart and be cost-effective. All uniform and valuable items must be marked with your child's name.

We consider that wearing the correct school uniform is a way of pupils showing that they wish to belong to our school. Pupils not wearing the correct uniform will receive one polite reminder before they are expected to remedy the issue. Please contact us regarding any genuine circumstances which mean that the correct uniform is unavailable to your child.

Uniform Expectations

Jewellery and make up

  • One pair of stud earrings only are permitted but must be removed or taped for PE lessons
  • Children are not to wear make-up, rings, bracelets or nail varnish
  • Belts should be discreet and in uniform colours

Hair and Accessories

  • Pupils with long hair should ensure it is worn in a neat and practical manner. For day-to-day classroom learning, hair may be worn fully tied back or half-up and half-down*. However, where health and safety considerations apply — including physical education, practical science, design technology, or similar activities (such as painting) — hair must be fully secured away from the face and shoulders.
  •  Hair accessories must be subtle and appropriate for school, aligning with school colours. Excessively large, brightly coloured, or decorative accessories such as bows or clips are not permitted.
  •  Hair colour must be within natural shades and should not be extreme in appearance. Styles that are excessively short, shaved, or considered extreme are not permitted.

* A half-up, half-down style is defined as the upper section of the hair being secured back with a subtle, school coloured accessory, while the remaining hair is left loose.

We appreciate some pupils will need to bring their phone to school. You must ensure that phones and smart watches are appropriately labelled and are stored securely in the classroom safe during the school day. If phones are seen in school, they will be removed until the end of the day. The school accepts no responsibility for mobile phones that are lost, damaged or stolen on school premises or transport, during school visits or trips, or while pupils are travelling to and from school. Toys are not permitted in school.

Headwear is not allowed in the classroom except for religious, cultural or medical reasons. In such cases, this must be agreed on an individual basis between the parents/carers and the school.

Should your child choose not to follow any of these rules, they will be asked to comply, but failure to do so may result in parents and carers being asked to take their child home to remedy the situation.
