This week we are going to revise shape. You can find all of the answers to the CGP book questions in the pdf at the bottom of this page.
Monday – 2D shapes
Make sure that you have completed p54-55 in your CGP book.
- Properties of triangles
- Scale finding heights – if you do not have a protractor, you can skip this task.
Tuesday – area
Remember that you need two perpendicular lengths to calculate area. Look for the little square that shows a 90° angle.
Make sure that you have completed p60-63 in your CGP book.
- Area of rectangles
- Area of triangles
- Area of parallelograms
Wednesday – symmetry
Make sure that you have already completed p53 and p64 in your CGP book. It was Q2 on p53 about rotational symmetry that confused people first time.
- Lines of symmetry
- Rotation symmetry
- Translating and reflecting
Thursday – angles
Make sure that you have already completed p56-57 in your CGP book.
- Angle sums
- Angles in parallel lines (You have done this task before but most people need some more practice)
- Interior exterior angles (When it asks for the exterior angle, it means if you continue the edge. interior + exterior = 180° as it is a straight line. e.g. for an equilateral triangle, the interior angle is 60° so the exterior angle is 120°)
