Maths Home Learning w/c 29th June 2020 

 

This week we will be revising calculating with fractions and converting between different types of fractions.  

 

 

Monday: 

 

  1. Complete 5-a-day activity from 29th June Silver or Gold 

  2. Watch the mixed number to improper fraction video (first one in the list on the left) at https://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/fraction-arithmetic/arith-review-mixed-number/v/changing-a-mixed-number-to-an-improper-fraction 

  3. If you want additional information, go to https://www.mathsisfun.com/improper-fractions.html 

  4. Complete the bottom half of the worksheet ‘Monday & Tuesday Task 1 

Tuesday:

 

  1. Complete 5-a-day activity from 30th June Silver or Gold 

  2. Watch the improper fraction to mixed number video (second one in the list on the left) at https://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/fraction-arithmetic/arith-review-mixed-number/v/changing-a-mixed-number-to-an-improper-fraction 

  3. If you want additional information, go to https://www.mathsisfun.com/improper-fractions.html 

  4. Complete the top half of the worksheet ‘Monday & Tuesday Task 1’ 

Wednesday:

 

  1. Complete 5-a-day activity from 1st July Silver or Gold 

  2. Complete mymaths ‘introducing mixed number and improper fractions’ (task 1) 

  3. Complete mymaths ‘mixed number and improper fractions’ (task 2) 

  4. Don’t forget to use the lesson section of the task to refresh your memory before doing the task. 

Thursday:

 

  1. Complete 5-a-day activity from 2nd July Silver or Gold 
  2. Watch the video at https://youtu.be/50Fq1lIbqFs on converting decimal numbers to fractions. 

  3. Complete the worksheet on converting decimals to fractions (task 2). 

  4. If you have found the above to easy or want an extra challenge, try the Task 3 challenge cards (answers are included). 

Friday:

 

  1. Complete 5-a-day activity from 3rd July Silver or Gold 

  2. Investigate and play with maths. Have a look at the following website https://nrich.maths.org/14580. Choose one or two tasks from the 7-11 age groups and have a go. Many of the challenges have a solution link at the top left of the page. Share your exploration with your teacher.
