Maths Home Learning w/c 8th June  

 

This week we will continuing to build our geometry skills by looking at reflection and then investigating different types of angles and being able to estimate the size of the angle.

 

Start each session with the 5-a-day starter task. Pick your difficulty level – bronze easiest and platinum most challenging. Make sure you challenge yourself. 

Monday: 

 

  1. Complete a 5-a-day task that challenges you from 8th June.  
  2. Go to the Oak Academy website https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-year/year-5/subjects/maths/ and complete lesson 6 - identify and describe reflections.  
  3. Complete task 2 – reflections worksheet Q1 to 6 and mark. 

Tuesday: 

 

  1. Complete a 5-a-day task that challenges you from 9th June. 
  2. Go to the Oak Academy website https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-year/year-5/subjects/maths/ and complete lesson 7 - to describe reflections using coordinates. 
  3. Complete reflecting and translating activity on mymaths. 

Wednesday: 

 

  1. Complete a 5-a-day task that challenges you from 10th June. 

  2. Go to the Oak Academy website https://classroom.thenational.academy/subjects-by-year/year-5/subjects/maths/ and complete lesson 8 - to reflect shape along axes. 

  3. Complete reflecting activity on mymaths. 

Thursday: 

 

  1. Complete a 5-a-day task that challenges you from 11th June. 

  2. Go to https://corbettmathsprimary.com/2018/05/30/types-of-angle-video/ and watch the video on types of angles. 

  3. Complete task 2 worksheet and mark 

Friday: 

 

  1.  Complete a 5-a-day task that challenges you from 12th June.  
  2. Watch the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfhR9UKeiJ4 (you won’t need a protractor for this as you are only estimating – the video uses the protractor to check). 
  3. Use the presentation to practice estimating angles (task 2) 
  4. Complete a worksheet of your choice which is challenging and mark 
  5. Complete mymaths activity for 12th June. 
  6. Use the activity at https://nrich.maths.org/1235 to practice
