Geography- An Earthquake case study- The Japanese Earthquake.

Look at the Powerpoint or PDF and follow the instructions below. 

  1. Locate Japan. 
  2. Go through events of 2011 earthquake. 

   3. Watch the 2 video news clips ( if you are using the PDF, then look at the clips on this page). 

   4.  Discuss and understand the difference between primary and secondary effects. 

   5. Look at the tsunami. 

    Main task: Understand and list the consequences of the earthquake and, secondly, explain how earthquake damage is limited in Japan.
