Well, I spoke too soon! Having said that the sun had been shining on our holidays - we then had snow. Hopefully you are now enjoying some more sunshine during our Easter Break. I hope you have been outside and enjoyed the weather. It is great to play and get some fresh air and exercise. Some of you will be back training with teams again which is great.
We have celebrated the Christian Festival of Easter and on Tuesday we had the Sikh festival of Vaisakhi (see below for more information). We are now in the Islamic period of Ramadan which you all learnt about in Ethics this year. The start of Ramadan is celebrated with the greeting ‘Ramadan Mubarak’ - a blessed and generous month. I hope that this month will be good for you whatever your faith or belief.
Remember to carry on reading over the holiday (20minutes). My English group challenged me to read a book by David Walliams. I have taken up the challenge as you can see in the picture below. Jaymie recommended Ratburger! Read Theory is also part of your homework as is Times Table Rockstars. They are both fun ways to learn.
There are some exciting new learning areas being prepared for next term. The Vikings are coming in history; In science we will be revisiting human growth (lockdown), art is going to include a lot of outdoor learning and environmental art and our ethics this half term will be living in Christianity. Curiosity - the story of a Mars rover which we will be looking at in English will remind us of some of our work in science on the Earth in Space.

Who would have thought it - Snow at Easter!
Celebrating Vaisakhi in Delhi 2014 - this is a harvest celebration. This year it was last Tuesday. Mrs D was made very welcome at the Sikh Temple.
