Attendance

We expect all children to arrive on the premises between 8.15 and 8.25 am. Attendance for the morning session of those children arriving in school after 8.50 am will be deemed ‘unauthorised’ unless a valid reason is given.

We expect all children to attend regularly. The Government has issued strict guidelines about what is considered authorised and unauthorised absence.

Please inform the school office if your child is absent from school. Where no written note to the child’s class teacher, or personal telephone call, is forthcoming, the absence will be treated as unauthorised.

All children must stay on the premises at lunchtime unless we have received written request from parents/carers. Children must be collected from Reception for any appointments- this precaution is for your child’s safety.

Schools have discretionary power to grant leave for the purpose of an annual holiday during term time. Only in exceptional circumstances will leave of absence during term time be granted.

Year 6 children will be taking SATs tests during the w/b 9th May, 2016. It is, therefore, important that Year 6 children are not taken out of school during this period – any holiday taken will not be authorised by the school, regardless of the circumstances.
